Haikou,June 11.—a Solomon Islands agricultural delegation led by Mr.Riley Henao Mesepitu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industries, Labour and Immigration, visited SINOMACH Hainan. The two parties held talks on strengthening in-depth cooperation within the agricultural sector. Mr. Song Zhe, Deputy General Manager of SINOMACH Hainan, and Mr. Zhong Yiwei, Chief Financial Officer, attended the meeting.
Mr. Song on behalf of SINOMACH Hainan, welcomed the delegation. He stated that SINOMACH Hainan possesses unique advantages in tropical agricultural development, island infrastructure construction, and international operations. SINOMACH Hainan is willing to engage in practical cooperation with the Solomon Islands across multiple fields, including tropical agriculture and rural infrastructure upgrades. This collaboration aims to help enhance the Solomon Islands' comprehensive agricultural production capacity and contribute to its social and economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods.
Mr.Mesepitu on behalf of the Solomon Islands, expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He emphasized that the Solomon Islands consistently regards the Chinese government and enterprises as vital partners. Currently, the Solomon Islands faces significant challenges in industrial commercialization and infrastructure development. They intend to learn from China's production and development philosophies, introduce advanced Chinese production technologies, and strengthen cooperation with SINOMACH Hainan in agriculture and infrastructure. This partnership is expected to support the modernization of Solomon Islands' agriculture and energy sectors, driving economic growth and progress in people's livelihoods.
During the talks, representatives from SINOMACH Hainan delivered a specialized report on the development of agricultural projects in the Solomon Islands. The Solomon Islands delegation shared their vision and expectations for SINOMACH Hainan's participation in their agricultural projects, as well as insights gained from attending coconut production and processing technology training at the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences.
